Using today’s class activity I will make sure our group’s research
question is broad enough to have enough information on but not so big that
there is not enough time to research everything that is out there on our topic.
It is important to make sure the question is not an opinion or biased. Though
we can find information that supports our opinion, it would not state the facts
and help make others aware of the issues that come with Anorexia and how to
prevent or decrease the amount of people that this disease effects. Anorexia is
a very broad topic; this is not necessarily a bad thing. We can come up with many
questions, narrow them down then pick the best question to concentrate on.
Great strategy,I think If yo do narrow down all your questions you will benefit and make an excellent paper. Finding information will help your research question. If the research question is biased then it probably won't be a good research paper.
ReplyDeleteJust to be clear, you each should be developing your own research question related to the shared group topic of anorexia.
ReplyDeleteSince you are majoring in psychology, maybe you would find it interesting to research something to do with psychological risk factors that make someone more likely to become anorexic or the psychological impact the disease has once someone is anorexic... Once a woman is under 100 lbs, what on earth is going on in her head to make her think she could still be "fat"? Or what is the psychological impact on family members who watch a loved one do this to themself?
Of course, you don't have to do anything related to psychology if there's some other aspect that you find more interesting!
